Who is KOF-K? The KOF-K is a committee comprised of experts in various specialized fields of kosher food production. All of these experts are strictly Orthodox in their practices. What does "Kosher" mean? The term "kosher" relates to a set of laws followed by people of the Jewish faith regarding preparation and consumption of foods. In order to understand the importance of kosher laws, it is important to understand the theory behind the law. Kosher laws are based on the concept that people should constantly be thinking about what they are doing rather than living their lives on "auto-pilot." People of the Jewish faith who observe these dietary laws must make regular decisions about what they eat, when they eat, and how they prepare the food. Manufacturers producing products certified as kosher must undergo a rigorous certification process involving all aspects of their products, including evaluation of their raw materials, facilities, equipment and processes.
