 Frequently Asked Questions About Chelation

Q. What is an organic mineral?

A.

Organic minerals are inorganic minerals such as zinc, copper or iron that are chemically bonded to an organic molecule such as a protein or amino acid. The type of organic molecule and the way it is bonded to the metal both determine whether the resulting organic mineral is a complex, a proteinate, or a true amino acid chelate. The most effective organic minerals are highly stable and are not destroyed by the digestion process. Rather, they are absorbed throughout the small intestine thus increasing potential absorbability of the mineral nutrient. Many organic minerals available on the market today fail to achieve these goals.
